In conjunction with the 6th Anniversary of Tokyo Street, 60th Anniversary of Malaysia-Japan Diplomatic Relations and also Ikenobo’s 555 years in history this year, a special tour from Japan led by Mrs. Senko Ikenobo, the Headmaster Designate of Ikenobo together with 90 Ikenobo members, accompanied by members from Malaysia and neighbouring countries is holding one of the largest Ikenobo Ikebana exhibition at Tokyo Street Level 6 of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
Ikebana, a Japanese flower arrangement focusing on beautifully arranging cut stems, leaves, and flowers in vases and other containers that evolved in Japan over seven centuries. Over the centuries, changes in customs and living environment are also refelcted in the evolution of Ikenobo’s Ikebana style. Each age brought new challenges and today’s style includes “rikka”, “shoka” and the modern “free style”.
This joint initiative is also supported by Tourism Malaysia Osaka whereas a KL Tour package with Senko Ikenobo to KL was launched. Members of Ikenobo will demonstrate and exhibit the ikebana arrangements in July 2017, at Tokyo Street Pavilion KL.
This Ikenobo Ikebana exhibition held at Tokyo Street Pavilion KL will be one of the biggest Ikenobo exhibitions held outside of Japan to date.
Do take this rare opportunity to drop by Pavilion KL for an eye opening exhibition. The entire Tokyo Street smells wonderful and fresh. The Ikenobo Ikebana exhibition will be held from 30th June to 2nd July 2017. There will be 100 pieces of floral art available.
