Pavilion Kuala Lumpur announced that they have raised RM500,000 for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, also known as Charity at Heart throughout “The Rise to Opulence” Chinese New Year campaign. The fund raised are for 20 Old Folks Homes and special Children’s Homes through the sale of the “Dance of the Prosperity Rooster”, a specially hand-painted glass plates made from limited-edition heritage glassware from Turkey. There are only 650 pieces created just for Pavilion KL, available for shoppers for a token sum of RM1,288 through the Rooster Gallery which is currently on displayed at the Centre Court.
The mall also supported Epal Training Centre’s Chinese New Year’s initiative where 1,000 door stopper roosters made by single mothers and handicapped individials were ordered and purchased by Pavilion KL for the media and guests throughout the campaign.
Each of the 20 homes received a donation of RM5,000 per home. An additional amount was donated to Persatuan Seni Jahitan Kreatif in support of their “Searching for the Star” program. Lastly the remaining amount from Charity at Hear 2017 will be donated to various causes throughout the year.
Speaking at the event, Puan Sri Cindy Lim thank everyone who contributed generously to Charity at Heart this year. She added that Pavilion KL managed to raised the money that will aid the welfare of old folks’ homes, education for special children and the less fortunate with acts of compassion and care, which brings them joy and fills their hearts with hope.
To date, Pavilion KL has raised a whopping grand sum of over RM3 million in charity donations and pledges from various festival fund raising, disaster relief funds and corporation donations.
