For the third year The Body Shop Malaysia has been celebrating Earth Day by giving away free tree saplings and this year, the 100% vegetarian brand has team up with Free Tree Society to give away 2,000 plant saplings of 25 different species. This initiative come about as the brand shared their concern on the rate of deforestation that is happening that will lead to an alarming stage if no one do anything about it. Therefore in conjunction with Earth Day, The Body Shop has created a public awareness on the importance of tree planting to save mother nature.
Earth Day 2017 is rather different as The Body Shop decided to do the giveaway at two separate location – eCurve Petaling Jaya and Setia City Mall as opposed to last year The Curve location only. A total of 2,000 plants consisting of 25 different species such as Lakata Banana (pisang berangan), Passion Fruit, Durian Tree, Coleus, Jawa Ginseng and many more are available for the members of the public to adopt home.
Another good news worth to be shared is that The Body Shop embarked on a new commitment entitled Enrich Not Exploit™ where as the brand will protect and nurture the environment across every part of its business such as ingredients, packaging, stores, suppliers, employees and campaign.
